Walk for a Cause: Bay Area Dream Mile 2012

The first time a mother holds her bundle of joy in her arms she starts dreaming for him the best in life.  He would wear the best clothes, eat quality food, get the best education and have a healthy life.  This is what every mother wishes for her child but many simply cannot realize this universal dream.  Here is where Vibha strives in making many a mother’s dream a reality.  These are children of mother’s in India who are under difficult circumstances: children who are forced into child labor, children inflicted with HIV/AIDS, runaways and street children, children with rare disabilities, and much, much more.

Vibha, through its annual flagship fundraising event “The Dream Mile,” a 5K/10K/Half Marathon event, helps provide education and overall care to the children, who otherwise have none to care for their future. While runners participate in the event, others can enjoy the free carnival, free food, and lots of fun activities for kids and grown-ups. As we are fun and frolicking we also get the satisfaction of making a great impact on these children’s lives.

One of the most famous quotes of Sir Winston Churchill is, “We make a living by what we get; we make a life by what we give.” So we urge you to participate in our event and contribute generously towards this worthy cause. This year Vibha Bay Area presents “The Dream Mile 5K/10K/Half Marathon”, on Sunday June 10, at Hellyer County Park, San Jose, California.
